Abundant Life & Leadership

Jesus said, in John 10:10, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”

Paul said, in Galatians 2:20 - “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”

Christ-life leadership is about dying to self, and allowing the Holy Spirit to live the life of Christ through us.

Leadership and Abundant Life

John 10:10 - … I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Leadership is about Vision and Influence

            The Vision is Abundant Life

It’s an abundant relationship with God on earth

It’s an eternal relationship with God in heaven - John 17:3

The Influence is to Make Disciples – The Great Commission

                        Love God

                        Love People

                        Make Disciples

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,…  James 1:19 NIV

Greetings

God is in the process of re-focusing me on the task of reaching Indiana for Christ!  Back in 2003, some of us started a monthly meeting, and began to call the effort, Transform Indiana.  We met for five years, during which time we developed relationships with a large number of niche ministries doing transformation in the lives of people in various localities, and, each of us began to focus on one or more of those.  This year, the concept is being revisited, and I am prayer-walking my neighborhood each Saturday, praying,

Standing Firm

Ephesians 6:10 - Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

Ephesians 6:13 - Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

Rachael Denhollander, the gymnast who called out Larry Nasser for his sexual abuse of Olympic gymnast hopefuls, spoke at the Indiana Leadership Prayer Breakfast.  She stood up for the truth by asking, “What is the right thing to do, and why am I doing it?”

Fear & Lies

I Peter 3:14-16 - But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED, but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;  and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame.

Two Major Sins

Ezekiel 22:4 - “You have become guilty by the blood which you have shed, and defiled by your idols which you have made. Thus you have brought your day near and have come to your years; therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations and a mocking to all the lands.”

Confusion

Have you noticed all the confusion in the airwaves today?

Isaiah 9:16 - For those who guide this people are leading them astray;  and those who are guided by them are brought to confusion.

People don’t know who they are, they speculate about who you are, and they make slanderous statements about those who do seem to know who they are.
